Christmas No. 1 Poll

We launched a limited edition range of Number 1 finalist dinky cakes, dedicated to the five contenders for the Christmas Number 1 single.

Each dinky cake was decorated with the face or faces of the five Christmas Number 1 contenders and the cakes were given out at the Sayers shop in Sale. This created a ‘dinky poll’ to predict the final results depending on whose cake was the most popular. The five contenders that Sayers created cakes for were:

Joe McElderry
Rage Against The Machine
Lady Gaga
The Muppets
The Soldiers

Sayers Head of Production, Liz Haslam explained: “Many of the staff can’t wait to find out who will be Christmas Number 1. We think that the ‘dinky poll’ will be a great way to get everyone involved. Hopefully it will be a good steer as to who is going to get the Number 1 slot.”

Joe and Rage Against The Machine were very close contenders in the dinky poll, replicating real life events, with Rage Against the Machine narrowly beating Joe to gain the Christmas Number 1 position.
