Spooky Trick Or Tweet

Friday 30th October 2009
This year, Sayers decided to initiate some modern day Halloween fun and games and prompted an online session of ‘Trick or Treat’ using Twitter, the popular social networking site.

Twitter users have been urged to follow @spookysayers between 27th-31st October and send an appropriately spooky message to be in with a chance of winning tasty treats. Each day of the campaign one particularly lucky Tweeter will win a specially decorated Spider Celebration Cake, worth £35.

Paul Kinla from Liverpool, was the winner of the first delicious Spider Cake. Paul made use of images and a spooky video to project his love for the brand, in a bid to win himself some of Sayers’ famous treats.

During the first day of the promotion, aided by his colleague Paul Rawlings, Kinlan not only uploaded a photograph of himself collecting his Halloween treat from the Sayers store on Tithebarn Street, Liverpool, but filmed and uploaded a homemade ‘spooky’ video clip, illustrating their devotion to Sayers.

After being thoroughly amused and flattered by Paul’s Sayers-fanatic antics, Sayers happily awarded him with the day’s top prize.

The ‘Trick or Tweet’ Sayers promotion will end on All Hallows Eve; no doubt there will be plenty more @SpookySayers fans in the meantime…

Sayers range of Halloween products includes a range of ginger and shortbread biscuits including Scary Bats, Friendly Ghosts, Spiders and Witches; Halloween themed cupcakes and fondants; the traditional ginger-flavoured cake Parkin, as well as the Spider Cake, which is a perfect centre piece for any children’s party.
